Cold Outreach Board — 3-Lens Cold Email Review

Review a cold email before sending: spam-filter triggers, tone that reads as about-me, and weak asks that get no reply, with cross-checked CONFIRMED/CORROBORATED/DISPUTED findings. Reviews a cold outreach email (sales, partnership, guest post, investor, or job outreach) using three independent reviewer lenses: a Spam Filter Simulator, a Recipient Empathy Check, and a Response Rate Realist. Each lens flags issues blind, then the lenses cross-examine each other's findings. A board verdict tags every finding CONFIRMED, CORROBORATED, or DISPUTED, ending with a send recommendation. It grounds every finding in the email text you paste, does not invent facts about the recipient, and asks for recipient context if none is given. It does not send emails, look up recipients, or test real deliverability; it reviews the text as pasted, so redact anything you do not want shared.

Use the Cold Outreach Board on this (a sample I wrote). I'm sending it to a marketing lead I've never spoken to; no other context on her beyond her title at a mid-size retailer.

Subject: FREE audit!!! Guaranteed 3x ROI on your email campaigns

Hi there,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Sam and I am the founder of BrightLoop Analytics (brightloop.example.com), the leading provider of AI-powered email optimization. We have helped hundreds of companies increase revenue, and we would love to do the same for you.

Our platform offers A/B testing, send-time optimization, predictive segmentation, churn scoring, a dashboard, and a Slack integration. Check out our site, our case studies at example.com/cases/1, example.com/cases/2, and our pricing at example.com/pricing. I've also attached our 24-page brochure.

LIMITED TIME: sign up this week and get a FREE audit worth $2,000!

Would you be open to a 45-minute demo call sometime next week? Or I can send over more info, or you could just sign up on the site, whichever works.

Best,
Sam

Example output

Note: no recipient context beyond a job title and "mid-size retailer" was given, so personalization findings are best-effort. Who is she, and what has she published or launched recently? That would sharpen the Recipient Empathy pass.

## Phase 1 — Independent findings

### 🚫 Spam Filter Simulator
1. Subject line: "FREE audit!!! Guaranteed 3x ROI on your email campaigns" stacks "FREE," triple exclamation marks and "Guaranteed 3x ROI." Consequence: classic filter-trained pattern, likely lands in Promotions/Spam before a human sees it. Fix: "Question about your email send times."
2. Body: "LIMITED TIME: sign up this week and get a FREE audit worth $2,000!" ALL CAPS, urgency, a dollar-value giveaway. Consequence: second strong spam signal in one message. Fix: delete the line.
3. Link and attachment load: three example.com links plus a 24-page attached brochure from an unknown sender. Consequence: attachments from a first-time sender and multiple links are a deliverability red flag. Fix: no attachment, at most one link or none.
4. "Hi there," plus "we would love to do the same for you" reads as a mail-merge blast with no name or company. Consequence: no personalization signal, so it looks bulk.

### 🎭 Recipient Empathy Check
1. Opening: "I hope this email finds you well. My name is Sam and I am the founder of BrightLoop Analytics..." leads with the sender and a stock pleasantry. Consequence: nothing signals why this person was picked; deleted in two seconds. Fix: open with one specific observation about her retailer's emails.
2. "the leading provider of AI-powered email optimization" and "helped hundreds of companies" are unproven self-description with no named result. Consequence: reads as targeting, not understanding.
3. No homework shown: there is no reference to her company, her campaigns, or anything recent. Consequence: she cannot tell this was meant for her.
4. "Would you be open to a 45-minute demo call" asks a stranger for real time and effort. Consequence: high-effort request from someone she has never heard of.

### 📊 Response Rate Realist
1. Four different asks: a 45-minute demo, "send over more info," "sign up on the site," plus the implied audit. Consequence: no single obvious yes; choice paralysis means no reply. Fix: one ask.
2. The ask sits in the last paragraph, under a six-feature list ("A/B testing, send-time optimization, predictive segmentation, churn scoring, a dashboard, and a Slack integration"). Consequence: the core ask is buried; a feature dump does not give a reason to reply.
